High School Students to Present Sound of Music
The Tippecanoe High School Theatre Department is excited to present their production of the beloved classic, "The Sound of Music.” Students are in the final week of rehearsing and preparing for opening night.
The show will be held in the school’s Center for Performing Arts on December 7-9 at 7:00 pm and December 10 at 2:00 pm.
"The Sound of Music" is a timeless story that follows the life of Maria, a free-spirited postulate who becomes a governess for the seven children of Captain von Trapp, a strict widower who runs his home like a military regiment. As Maria opens the children’s hearts through the power of music, she also captures the heart of their stern, widowed father.
The story is set in Austria, just before the outbreak of World War II, and is filled with cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” "Do-Re-Mi," "My Favorite Things," and "Edelweiss."
The students at Tippecanoe High School have been working hard at rehearsing for this production. They are excited to bring this heartwarming story to life on stage with special elementary and middle school student guest performers.
The cast and crew promise an evening of music, laughter, and maybe a few tears as they celebrate the power of love and family.
Tickets can be purchased at Tipp.Booktix.com or at the door.
