From the City Manager: January 24 News
City Manager Update
The following are highlights from the week of January 24, along with some project updates that will impact the City in the coming weeks.
• Industrial Sanitary Sewer Construction- Winter weather over the past two weeks has delayed progress on this project. Work is expected to resume along West Main Street next week. Please use caution when driving through the construction zone.
• ADA Curb Ramp Project- The City, in partnership with Miami County, has secured $70,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds to upgrade 23 curb ramps to meet ADA compliance standards. Improvements will occur at the following locations:
- North 3rd Street and Parkwood near City Park
- South 1st Street near Elm Street
- Along Hathaway Trail
Weather permitting, work is expected to begin soon.
• Third Street Stop Signs- New informational signage has been installed along Third Street to notify drivers of upcoming traffic pattern changes. Stop signs will be reinstalled at Third Street & Plum intersections and Third Street & Dow Street in early February. Please drive carefully as the new signage goes into effect.
• City & School District Collaboration Meeting- The City and Tipp City School District have held two meetings to discuss the future of the Broadway School property. Additional discussions are planned for the study session before the City Council meeting on February 3rd. Input from City Council and the Tipp City School Board will help guide the direction for the property’s future.
• Serve Your Community- Tipp City is seeking dedicated residents to serve on various City Boards, including:
- Board of Zoning Appeals
- Cable Access Commission
- Restoration & Architectural Board
- Tree Board
Interested residents should complete an application and submit it to Janice Bates, Clerk of Council.
• My Tipp City Mobile Application- I want to continue to encourage everyone to download the app to stay updated on city services and news. It’s a great way to stay up on City news and also be notified quickly during City emergencies like power outages, road closures, etc. Scan the QR code below to get started.
